Rick Breault uses processed and unprocessed sounds in solo and group improvisation. He is also a member of the New England Phonographers Union, who use unprocessed field recordings in group improvisation. He colloborates with Elaine Wood in the video/sound duo, Brood. Rick also writes original songs and performs them on solo acoustic guitar.
Rick's resume includes stints writing, singing and playing electric guitar in the bands Inside Out, Flicker, and Miro. 12 Cent Donkey (Rick Breault and Steve Painter) released their psychedelic ambient blues CD, "Where There are No Roads", on Gulcher Records in 2006.

Elaine is a visual artist. Her media inclues painting, drawing photography and video. Her work was shown in juried shows including the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Arlington Center for the Arts, and the Boston Visual Artists Union.  She has exhibited her work in various spaces, including the Noonan Gallery, the Kingston Gallery and the Carpenter Center at Harvard University. She collaborates with Rick Breault using video and sound in the Brood duo.

Brood screened their video shorts and the 119 Gallery, as part of the Boston Cyberarts Festival in 2009, and at Opensound in Somerville, MA.
